Welcome to my website.
My name is Maren . I am a western trained musician who has specialised in Middle Eastern Music over the last 15 years. I work with Western and Middle Eastern Musicians and Dancers. My main Music Ensembles are the Mazaj Band and Souk-Bal-el-Louk, we offer a wide range of music and dance performances, from traditional Arabic and Turkish styles to upbeat fusion, for festivals, concert halls, functions, weddings and private parties and we teach workshops in Middle Eastern Percussion and Dance, Arabic and Turkish Nay Flute, Introduction Workshops to Middle Eastern Music for Western Musicians and Dancers.
I also work with the legendary World Beat Dub Reggae Fusion Band Suns of Arqa and I run the MIDDLE EASTERN MUSIC DRUM & DANCE FESTIVAL UK 13th – 15th of JULY 2012, and the TURKISH MUSIC, PERCUSSION AND DANCE HOLIDAY 6th of May to 16th of May 2012 at the Lazy Lizard Boutique-Hotel Uzunyurt (Faralya) near Ölüdeniz in Turkey.
